Porsche Carrera 6 Nürburgring 1000km 1968

In 1968, Germany's Eifel mountains earned its well-deserved nickname, "The Green Hell".  The rain, hailstorms, and snowfall put a lot of stress on the spectacular field of 100 sports cars.  Being a test of limits under regular conditions, the track took its toll, with only 47 cars finishing the race.  The Porsche Carrera 6 was one of the unlucky cars, withdrawing because of broken rocker-arms.
