Carrera non-stop racing record

Christoph Haider wins it all!
On the weekend of the 28th & 29th April 2007, Haider Indoor Racing in Gloggnitz, Austria/Europe, played host to the longest ever slot car race to be completed without a driver changeover, using original 1:24 scale Carrera cars!

World record holder, Christoph Haider, had this to say about the longest ever Carrera race:

"32 hours non-stop is an excellent result! The Carrera racing cars ran like clockwork the whole way. The slider contacts held up really well. After 32 hours the tyres were worn and they’d have definitely needed changing if we’d gone on much longer”.

At 2 am fellow racer Christian Seyser was finally forced to give up as he was suffering from sore eyes.

Here are the details:
• 1. World record holder: Christoph Haider - 32 hours non-stop
• 2. Christian Seyser - 32 hours / gave up
• 3. Jürgen Pratter - 29 hours / gave up
• 4. Manuel Faigel – 25.20 hours / gave up
• 5. Stefan Wagner -  25.20 hours / gave up
• 6. Markus Faigel – 25.20 hours / gave up
• 7. Thomas Dettmers - 14 hours / gave up
• 8. Walter Dittrich - 11 hours / gave up

Haider Indoor Racing set up a 60.74 m Carrera circuit on which a total of 320.12 km were driven (full scale 7682.92km).

On behalf of all the drivers I would like to express our gratitude for all the support given by Carrera in setting this fantastic world record!
