"B-Production racer"
1962 saw the last year of the original Corvette body, on which the annual facelifts already had left their traces. And the same year saw the Corvette’s emancipation from its roots in mass production and laid the foundation for the reputation as a competitive American sportscar. The powerful V8 could be ordered with up to 360hp, and with a flick of the wrist, the car could be morphed into a serious competition vehicle. SCCA’s champions drove Corvettes in the A- and B-Production series that year.
