"Johansson Motorsport Le Mans 2001"

In 2001, the Audis R8, unrivaled in the 2000 season, were given over to private teams. The team of former Formula 1 racer Stefan Johansson took one of the cars to drive it in Le Mans and at the ELMS. The sports car sponsor, petrol company Gulf, was brought on as a sponsor; in the sixties and seventies Gulf used such classic cars as the Ford GT40 and Porsche 917 as advertising vehicles.
