Last of the Silver Arrows

1955 saw the last run for the classic silver arrow, developed by Daimler-Benz AG's interal racing works. The final act after 50 years of racing history took place at the 1955 Targa Florio celebrations. I wasn't until the 1980s did Mercedes Benz again become involved in motor sport. However, the days of independent development were over.
